The Old Panevėžys Theatre recalls a long journey: in the 19th century, industrial workshops operated here, and later the building became an important cultural hub of the city. It was here that the city’s theatre began to take shape, and where actor, director, and founder of the Panevėžys Drama Theatre Juozas Miltinis started his creative path.
Today, the old city theatre shines from afar – already in September, during the European Heritage Days, the building was illuminated for the first time and attracted great interest, which inspired the decision to continue the idea. As the winter holiday season approaches, it has lit up once again, symbolically greeting the city’s residents and its guests.
The Old Theatre will remain illuminated every day until New Year – in the mornings from 6:00 to 8:00 and in the evenings from 17:30 to 23:00.
