The history of this theatre is linked to the very talented legendary artist and director of Lithuanian theatre, Juozas Miltinis. A modern theatre building at Laisvės Aikštė (Square) was built in the 1970s. Here the creative theatre community lived through the greatest years of its glory. Next to the Juozas Miltinis Drama Theatre stands an impressive monument dedicated to Juozas Miltinis, founder of the theatre.
