Panevėžys Jewish cemetery

During 1872-1940 almost seven thousand deceased were buried in the Panevėžys Jewish cemetery. The cemetery was closed in 1955 and destroyed in 1966. Currently in the Atminimas (Remembrance) square in the place of the former cemetery a commemorative monument has been built. Just next to it another monument of a Jewish Mother in Mourning has been erected.
